Wily Sports Journalist Collins Atta Poku has launched a scathing attack on the Ghana Football Association. Atta who recently was in the news for calling out the FA to be accountable to Ghanaians on how much money that was made and spent on the 2 Black Stars friendly (Brazil and Nicaragua) in September 2022 has for another time poked the FA in the eye

Speaking to Barak Mintah Brown on Beach 105.5fm in takoradi, the sompa fm/tv sports journalist said the FA have a history of lying and that Ghanaians should always probe every single dealings and communication of the Football Association.

“This is an FA that finds and take delight in lying about the black stars. They took the black stars to Doha and the minister said they were preparing the black stars in Doha because they would want the team to do well because they have an eye on the world cup.

Even before we went for the Afcon they had gone to Qatar. Now they’re going to Qatar proper proper, if you win fine, if you don’t do well the first thing that would come up is, how much did we spend. I brought this Qatar in because, when we went there our coach Milovan Rajevac couldn’t concentrate on the team because he had Covid, some of the players too had Covid, some of them had to be sneaked into Cameroon and nobody said anything. As if that was not enough, they kept on lying about Kudus and his availability even when Ajax was telling us Kudus wasn’t fit to play in the Afcon.

The coach, communications director and the FA president kept on insisting as if they knew something we didn’t know. Eventually we found out who was lying”

Asked if he was not being unfair to the FA, Atta continued “Oh no no! They’ve done this before. We were in Cameroon with them, we asked is Kudus coming to play, Ajax had told us he is not coming to play but you (FA) insisted that he was coming to play but in the end Kudus didn’t come. So between journalist who had spoken to Ajax and the FA that was in touch with Kudus, who lied?”

He further shared his expectations of the team going into world cup, believing the team would go beyond the group stages and that the players would use the world cup as a preparatory grounds to prepare themselves so well for the next afcon slated for January 2024 in Cote D’Ivoire
