A few weeks after earning a debut call-up to the Netherlands senior national team, impressive defender Jeremie Frimpong has disclosed Ghana Football Association (GFA) tried to convince him to play for Black Stars.
The previous Dutch youth global was qualified for Ghana through his dad yet turned down the open door when he was reached by the GFA.
The 21 year old defender is now beginning to find his feet in the Bundesliga and he is seen to be one with a great future. Jeremie Frimpong now plays for Bundesliga giants Bayern Leverkusen.
The former Celtic right back when asked if he could represent England Frimpong told ESPN Netherlands: “I can but England’s out the way.”I’m not English, I’m Dutch.
“Yes of course (it was a dream). As a young kid I wanted to play for my country, to play for Holland.”
